3.20pm – 4.50pm  A-Lister Top Aussie Film Makers Reveals – Ian Collie  Producer 

Ian is one of Australia’s most acclaimed Producers. His credits include three seasons of the highly acclaimed ABC TV series Rake starring Richard Roxburgh, three telemovies based on Peter Temple’s Jack Irish book series entitled Bad Debts and Black Tideand Dead Point, starring Guy Pearce; and a further Peter Temple adaptation The Broken Shore. Ian is also Executive Producer on the US version of Rake starring Greg Kinnear. Ian is the Producer the 2013 feature Saving Mr Banks which took $83 Million at the US Box Office. The film  stars Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson.

Title: The Art of Perseverance in Australian Feature Film Making

The average fully financed feature film takes seven years to complete.  It’s a huge commitment. How does one persevere financially, personally, professionally, and creatively? Nick interviewed 40 feature filmmakers in Australia and will share their great insights, and lessons learned in their quest to fulfil their creative dream.

Bio:

Nick Bolton has been a pioneer in the world of online video distribution for over ten years with Viocorp. Nick now runs his own production company TEN ALPHAS providing strategy and production services for corporates to plan their content, find distribution and monetise the effort.

Nick is also an accomplished Actor, Producer and Director in film, theatre and digital, having won many awards over the last ten years, and is represented by Encompass Management.

Dominic McDonald has been a professional actor since 1987, since when he has appeared in nearly a dozen Feature Films, over a hundred hours of Network Television, more than thirty professional Theatre Productions, several TVC’s and numerous award winning Short Films. He has worked with some of Australia’s best known performers; Ben Mendelsohn, Radha Mitchell, Guy Pierce, Asher Keddie, Vince Collosimo and John Jarratt and some of Australia’s most talented directors; Charles “Bud” Tingwell, Peter Andrikidis and Dean Francis to name just a few.

3.20pm – 4.45pm:   Indie Film Maker Christopher Collins Reveals 

Chris Collins is a veteran of the Indie Film Scene. He has worked on countless films over the last 30 years. Recently he made a low budget feature film. He will show excerpts and talk all about the challenges of making a feature film Little Thief, on a low budget.
